THE BACK AND FORTH GAME OF THE SEASON!!!!
The score may not tell the same tale, but this was quite a showdown of non-stop back and forth hockey that was exciting for all fans involved!

Sunday night's game proved to be way more eventful and full of energy than some of us expected. Why did we not expect excitement during a Tyke hockey game? Sunday night..... 5:30.... after a full weekend of playing and shenanigans... well... some of us thought the attention span would have been, let's just say, less than usual. The FLYERS and the Red Wings proved us wrong!
Carson Thomas got the start, and the finish, in goal for the FLYERS. Looking like he has done this for many years, Carson blocked shot after shot throughout this entire game. If not for his skill and energy, we can't be sure what the score would have ended up being.
The FLYERS opened the scoring at 8:07 with Sam Willsie skating straight for net. There was a mass of players in front of their goalie, some on our team and some on theirs. Sam somehow swindled his way past all of them and knocked the puck right into the net. Sixty-four seconds later, the Red Wings responded with a lovely goal of their own. This kind of play continued throughout the entire first period, with the FLYERS and the Red Wings scoring two a piece this period.
The second period was not much different with regards to the play. This back and forth game would continue well into the second period but by the end of it, the score had dramatically widened from 2-2 to 6-3 for the FLYERS. Goals scored this period were all wonderful to watch. Camryn, Sam and Owen all put on a great show of fantastic goal scoring for all to watch.
The third period was awesome. All FLYERS' goals this period were the first of the season for each of these hungry players. Bryce Steinmann scores his first goal of the season by hammering a high speed shot at the goalie. This shot was perfectly aligned and the goalie had no chance at saving it! The next in line was Mighty Molly Reintjes. Owen Gray sees Molly standing in the crease and passes her the puck. She bangs home the blue beast for her first career goal as a member of the FLYERS. Then comes Alex Dutton. After one solo attempt on net, Alex does it again. He steals the puck from the a player on the other team and immediately heads for the Red Wings' net. Alex doesn't hesitate and fires his shot at the perfect moment, landing the puck deep in the back of the goal. Congrats to all three of you for your first goals of the season!
Great opportunities were seen at both ends of the ice this game. Thanks FLYERS for putting on a great evening of hockey fun for us parents.
