ROW, ROW, ROWAN THE PUCK.......
…..gently up the ice! No one won. No one lost. Tie game between the Pens and the FLYERS. But we got to see some great hockey today and a season first for one of our hard working FLYERS!

In the stands, there is not a stitch of animosity between the spectators. All fans were sitting amongst each other; there were no “sides”. The FLYERS fans and the Pens fans were having a great time. On the ice, the game started out with a definite air of competition. The puck spent equal amounts of time in each end as the play went back and forth throughout most of the first. Lots of shots were taken but the goalies got behind all of them until 11 seconds left in the first. Grayson finds Sam open and snaps him a pass that lands right on the mark. Sam carries the puck directly to the net, passing through three Pens and lets loose a shot that makes it way easily between the Pens goalie pads. This goal opens up the scoring to what will be a ten goal game.
The second period affords the money paying fans a chance to observe 7 Olympic quality goals. One of these 7 goals was a goal the FLYERS have all been waiting for since the season began. Only seconds into the second period, Camryn single handily steals the blue beast away from a couple of Pens who were trying to assault our net. Camryn comes out victorious but looses it near our blue line. Rowan sees this opportunity and pick up the stray beast and proceeds toward the other end. He’s on a break away and there is no one even close to him. Not only is Rowan on his own and heading for the net, no one is able to catch him either! In an instant, when the time seems right, Row makes his moves and stick handles the puck directly in the open net on the left of the goalie. This is the first goal of the season for Row and what an incredible goal it was. The fans ( on both teams) went bananas! The cheering and clapping went on for minutes as Rowan skated back to the bench, clearly enthralled with his goal. The coaches welcomed Row onto the bench and gave him the congrats he deserved. Slick Sam follows Row and at 8:10, nets his second, and most skilled goal of the game, right above the blocker of the goalie. The game remains heated, with both team clearly trying their hardest. Slick Sam enters the scene again and scores his third goal of the game. Sam is cut off and begins his passing game. 4-1 FLYERS…. but it’s early in the game. Everyone was hoping the FLYERS won’t pull a stunt like the women’s USA team and think the game is a done deal too early! Just as quickly as Sam gets his third goal the Pens turn it around and get their second goal. Alex Dutton mimics Rowan, finds open ice and makes his way toward the net.. Alex handles the puck all the way to the net and blasts it where it belongs. One more for the Pens this period. The second finally ends with an incredible number of goals and the score sits at 5-3 FLYERS
Into the third is where the Pens step it up and slide two easy goals into our net. We saw some great plays in the third by all players on the FLYERS team. Though determined and hopeful for a win, the FLYERS took the tie and the Pens surely deserved it.
Only one more month FLYERS!!!!! Let’s make it your best one yet and have fun the whole way.
