WOW!!!!
Yet again, the FLYERS have a fabulous game driven by hard work and lots of fun!
Following a tragic loss last weekend, the FLYERS came back with an absolutely incredible game today. Missing two valuable players, Grayson and Rowen, the team was still able to rally together to come up with a hard earned victory against a very talented team. Late in the first period, Holly scored her first goal of the season and the first goal of the game for the FLYERS. The fans got to to see some great defense this period by Sam, Owen and Molly.
The second period proved to be a tough one. Not much scoring action this period for either team; aside from a super duper top cheese supreme by Owen. The goalie never saw it comin'. The fans were going crazy over some seriously awesome stick handling action by Cayden, Bryce, Joel and Camryn. Our goalie, Alex, did not even come close to letting one in this period.
Third period... very tense! The score was 2-1 and all were getting very nervous. Out of the blue the other team scored, tying it up. Number 11, Carson Thomas didn't like that; he didn't like that at all. He went for it and decided he needed to wrap one around the net.... he SCORES!!!! 3-2 FLYERS!!!!! Still very close though; this team was not letting up and knowing them, they could score at any time and tie up this intense game up. The crowd is quiet, not a word to be heard; the bench is biting their nails, fearing the other team will score.
That goalie was GOOD; stopping shot after shot by the FLYERS!!! We kept hammering but he kept saving. All we could hear was OOOOHHHHHH throughout the stands as he kept saving the FLYERS' wicked and fearsome attempts on goal. But in the end, this goalie was no competition for ours. THEN..... from behind our blue line, FLYS number 14, Owen Gray, just minutes before the final buzzer. He sleekly stalks up the boards and 5 holes their great goalie to clench the win!!!!
Way to go team. You all worked so hard!!!!
