BY FAR THE BEST GAME YET!!!
The DRAGONS played their 16th game of the regular season today and it was, by far, their best one yet!

The DRAGONS were up against the best team in the league and we expected it to be a rather one sided game. The coaches know what these wee DRAGONS are made of and we could only hope they would click as a team tonight. What we saw was the best game our kids have played this year.
The puck dropped just after the fans, players and coaches got an earful of "Ironman" played over the sound system. The DRAGONS won the puck and immediately and easily brought it into Lambeth's end. Most of the first period was spent in their end with a few attacks on ours. Early in the first Fabulous Fisher passes the puck out front and it is picked up by Might Molly who one times it at the net. Lambeth's massive goalie easily saves the puck, covers it and the whistle blows. The DRAGONS were unable to net any goals this period but some strange events allowed Lambeth to be credited with three goals in the last 5 minutes of the first.
The second period is on us and the score is 3-0 Lambeth. Only two goals are scored in the second and they are by our very own DRAGONS. The teams line up, the ref scoots back some players who are too close; the puck is dropped just as the "Bear Cat" ends. This entire period is dominated by the DRAGONS and Lambeth did not like it. The play got rough and there were many opportunities for penalties to be called although, strangely, none were called; they were simply ignored. Only 180 seconds into the first, Mighty Molly receives an up ice pass from Danglin' Daniel. She carries the puck close to the blue line and passes it to Fabulous Fisher. From this point on, Fish does nothing but skate like he is the only one on the ice. Fish heads to the net, drops his shoulder and gets the goalie to believe he is heading to the left. Fish swiftly shifts to the right, deeks the goalie and slides an on ice shot that makes the red light glow! The DRAGONS are on the board now. Four minutes pass with the play mainly in the Lambeth end when the DRAGONS make another mark on the score board. Lambeth had the puck in our end but it was taken by Terrific Ty and cleared instantaneously. Keeping his head up, Ty fires a hard shot off the boards and it's picked up by Notorious Nathan. Nathan carries it toward the Lambeth goalie and looks for even the smallest opening to get the puck in the net. He sees his chance and fires a top shelf blaster that skillfully finds it way past the only open 4 inches of this huge goalies presence. Not much else happens this period and we close with a score of 3-2 for them.
The fans are rocking in their seats to the beautiful sound of Metallica as the players line up and get ready for the face off. This period is when all the wheels fall off and many of the bench staff cannot figure out what is going on. Lambeth scores 3 goals this period, 2 of which we still wonder what happened with the calls. One of the goals is scored after our goalie, Alex "Dutsy" Dutton had the puck covered for more than 15 seconds as the Lambeth players continued to dig at it. After about 15 seconds of this, with no whistle from the refs, the Lambeth players dig it free and it ends up in the net.... goal Lambeth!?!?! The game ends and the final buzzer sounds. The score ends up 6-2 Lambeth and the funny thing is the DRAGONS are elated, yet frustrated. Elated because they know they played their best game as a team but frustrated because they did not understand what happened with some of the calls, or lack thereof. Even at 9 and 10 years old they understood something was wrong.
In the end, noone who are DRAGON fans can be unhappy because this game was awesome! It was so wonderful to see the kids progress to the skill level they played with during this game..... and the  way they played as a TEAM!
GO DRAGONS!!!
