2020-2021 Minor Hockey Season
DMHA is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2020-21 minor hockey season.  The season will begin on September 14, 2020 for U8 (formerly novice) to U18 (formerly midget) players, and shortly thereafter for U7 and below.

As with many things in today's world, minor hockey will look a little different for the foreseeable future.  However, DMHA is committed to providing a safe and fun hockey experience within the guidelines and recommendations established by the province, the local health unit, Thames Centre, Hockey Canada, the Ontario Hockey Federation and OMHA.

In the initial stages of the season, the focus will be on group training and development.  Tryouts are not permitted this year.  Players will be divided into groups designed to foster individual and group development while adhering to limits on the number of participants on the ice.  The current plan is for each group from U8 to U18 to have two on ice sessions per week throughout the season.  Because competition is also a component of development and fun, we are diligently working on options for competition within our local health unit as mandated by OHF.

Many details of our return to play plan continue to evolve based on the latest information available.  Regular updates will be provided as we get closer to our September 14 start date and throughout the season.  It will be important to monitor communications from DMHA and the DMHA website regularly.

You will need to register players even if you have already completed the “pre-registration”. We were not allowed to collect fees when the pre-registration opened and did not have enough details about the season at that time therefore everyone will need to re-registerThis must be completed before players are allowed on the ice.

We hope to be able to offer hockey all season but realize that things could change quickly with the pandemic. For this reason, we are asking that you select the payment plan option when registering your player instead of paying fees in full. This will allow us to cancel future payments if need be instead of having to refund fees.

Finally, we have created an FAQ tab on our website which we will update frequently with answers to commonly asked questions. You can access that tab here.

Our priority throughout the return to play planning and implementation is the safety of everyone involved.  We appreciate your patience and ongoing support as we navigate these unprecedented times.
