International Silver Stick Finalists
The Dorchester Dragons LL2 U13 made their way to Pelham Ontario for the International Silver Stick Finals this January. The Dragons battled hard over the first four games and found themselves headed to the semifinal's vs the undefeated Durham Crusaders. This was a tight game tied at 1-1 when Lukas Malarzewski scored the go-ahead goal with 45 seconds left in the third. The Dragons would hold off the Crusaders winning 2-1 and making their way to the finals.
The Finals
Dorchester faced off against The Collingwood Jr Blues for the second time in this tournament. Both teams played hard and found themselves tied at 2-2 in the third period. With 18 seconds left a tough bounce landed the puck on a Blues players stick in front of the Dragons goal. He was able to slide it by a diving Derek Jergens to give the Blue's the lead. The game ended 3-2 for the Blues.
The coaches couldn't be prouder the way the Dragons battled all weekend and never gave up. The Dragon's second banner will be hung in the Flight Exec Centre.
