    Huronia Rules and Regulations

    As per OMHA Manual of Operations

     

    1. All teams must register with tournament officials at least one (1) hour prior to their first game at the arena where their first game occurs.  A copy of the OMHA/GTHL/Alliance approved roster must be presented at this time.
    2. All teams must have on the bench, a head coach and a trainer and no more than 5 bench staff for each game as per OMHA rules.
    3. Each team shall bring two sets of sweaters.  The home team in each game shall wear their light colour sweaters.  In the event of a conflict the convenor may choose to assign colours inconsistent with this rule.
    4. There shall be no timeouts or overtime in round robin play.
    5. A three (3) minute warm-up will precede each game.  This time will begin as soon as the game officials arrive on the ice.  Games will be 10-10-15 minutes in length. 
    6. Teams must be ready to play 20 minutes prior to any of their scheduled game times.
    7. Regardless of the number of teams in a division; at the end of the round robin play the teams ranked 1 and 2 by points will play in the championship.  The teams ranked 3 and 4 will play for the consolation.
    8. Points in round robin play are assigned as follows:
      • 4 points for a game victory
      • 2 points for a tied game
      • 0 points for a loss
      • 2 points for each period won
      • 1 point for each period tied

     

    1. Tie breaking formula will be as follows:
      • Head to Head
      • If still tied, the team with the least penalty minutes shall advance.
      • Coin Toss.

    In the event of a three way tie the process will be applied to separate one team.  At this point the process will be applied again to separate the final two teams.

    1. Overtime Format (championship and consolation games only): One five (5) minute stop time, sudden victory, 4 on 4 period.  If teams are still tied then a 3 player shoot out will commence.  Prior to the start of the game the coaching staff will select the three players to shoot by circling them on the game sheet.  If still tied after the three shooters then a sudden victory shoot out will commence.  Each team will send one different shooter at a time to center ice.  The initial three shooters may not shoot again until all players on the team, excluding the goalie, have shot.
    2. When a team is winning by five goals or more after the second period the clock will be run straight time until the gap is reduce to 3 goals, at which point the clock will revert to stop time.  All minor penalties will be 2 minutes during straight or stop time.
    3. Game Misconducts; All game misconduct and other applicable suspensions are per OMHA Manual of Operations.
    4. Fighting and Match penalties: A player who receives a fighting major or match penalty shall be suspended from the tournament
    5. Teams must vacate dressing rooms 20 minutes after playing.

     

    NO PROTESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

    THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEES DECISION WILL BE FINAL

     

    Division and Tournament standings shall be determined by the tournament board at Central Park Arena, not the website standings.

    BRADFORD BULLDOGS BLUE & GOLD REP CLASSIC TOURNAMENT RULES
    Tournament Information REP

    Welcome to the Bradford Bulldogs Blue & Gold Classic Hockey Tournament in Bradford, Ontario. Most games will take place at the New Bradford Leisure Centre, Bob Fallis Recreation Centre in Bradford, Centre Ice Sportsplex @The Nottawasaga Resort. Some teams may also have games at other nearby arenas.

    All teams must register at arena of your first game with official roster & travel permit. If you can send roster & permits by email in advance of tournament this is also accepted & recommended.

    Format of Tournament

    •   Maximum of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 12 teams per division. Each team is guaranteed 4 games.

    •   Maximum of 17 players and 2 goalies may be registered per team. Players can only register & play in one division.

    •   In the 4 team division a round robin format will be done. The 4th game will be the first place team playing the 4th place team & the other game will be the 2nd place team vs 3rd place team. This game is a semi final game. Winners of semi final games will play in the Championship Final Sunday.

    •   In the 5 team division all teams will play each other once. The top two teams with the most points will play in the Championship Final Sunday.

    •   In the 6 team division, teams will be seeded after 3 games from 1st to 6th. 5th plays 6th for a consolation 4th game. Semi Finals will consist of 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd for the teams 4th game. Winners of semi-final games play in the Championship Final.

    •   In the 7 team division after all teams have played 4 games the top 4 teams advance to a semi final game with 1st vs 4th & 2nd vs 3rd place teams as their 5th game. Winners play in final as their 6th game.

    •   In the 8 team division there will be (2) divisions of 4 teams. The 4th game will be the 1st place team playing the 4th place team & the other game will be the 2nd place team vs 3rd place team in their respective pools. This game is a quarter final game. Overtime rules apply if tied after regulation game. Winners of quarter final games will advance to the semi finals. Semi Finals will consist of Winner of Pool I will play 2nd place team in Pool II. 2nd place team in Pool I will play winner of Pool II. Winners of semi finals will play in championship game.

    •   In the 9 team division there will be (2) divisions. One of 5 teams & one of 4 teams. In the 4 team division, the 4th game will be the first place team playing the 4th place team & the other game will be the 2nd place team vs 3rd place team. This game is a quarter final game & overtime rules applied if tied after regulation game. Winners of quarter final games will advance to the semi finals. In the 5 team division all teams will play each other once. Top 2 teams after 4 games advance to semi finals. Semi Finals will consist of Winner of Pool I will play 2nd place team in Pool II. 2nd place team in Pool I will play winner of Pool II. Winners of semi finals will play in championship game.

    •   In the 10 team division there will be (2) divisions of 5 teams, with the top 2 teams in each division advancing to a semi final. Semi Finals will consist of Winner of Pool I will play 2nd place team in Pool II. 2nd place team in Pool I will play winner of Pool II. Winners of semi finals will play in championship game.

    •   In the 12 team division the top team in each pool will advance to a semi final along with 1 wild card team with the next best overall record. Winners of semi final games will play in Championship Sunday. There will be 3 pools of 4 teams.

    A member of the coaching staff will be required to register 60 minutes before 1st game & 45 minutes prior to other games.
    Tournament Committee will designate home teams
    Home teams will wear a light colour jersey. If a conflict arises regarding jersey colours, the VISITING team will change jerseys.

    Players & Coaches must be in their dressing rooms 30 minutes prior to their game time.
    Teams must be ready to play up to 15-30 minutes prior to their scheduled time.
    Dressing rooms must be vacated within 20 minutes of game completion.
    A 3 minute warm-up will be allowed after the ice is cleaned. Clock will be start at 13 minutes. At the 11 minute mark,
    TIMEKEEPER WILL BUZZ CLOCK & TEAMS WILL HAVE ONE MINUTE TO GATHER PUCKS. CLOCK WILL STOP AT THE 10 MINUTE MARK BEFORE GAME STARTS.

    Tournament Rules

    o OMHA Rules will apply
    o All games will consist of 3 x 10 minute periods stop time except for the Bantam &

    Midget divisions. These divisions will consist of 2 x 10 & 1 x 15 stop time periods. If there is a 5 goal spread in the 3rd period the clock will run. Once running time starts, the only time the clock stops is for an injury or if goal spread goes back to 3. Please note, if a penalty occurs during running time the following minutes apply. Any 2 minute penalty will be 3 minute running time & a 5 minute major penalty will be 7 minutes running time.

    o No timeouts in round robin play. One (1) 30 second timeout will be allowed for each team in Quarter-Final, Semi- Final & Championship Games.

    o 2 Points for win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss

    Tie Breakers
    In the event of a tie in the standings, the final results will be decided by:

    1. a)  Results of their head to head game(win or loss) Applies for round robin games. If 3

      or more teams tied go to b).

    2. b)  Most total wins

    3. c)  Goal differential. The team with the highest tournament goal average. This is

      determined by the total goals scored/ total goals for & against. EXAMPLE: Team 1

      scores 10 goals and gives up 14. 10/24=.417

    4. d)  Least amount of penalty minutes

    5. e)  Most goals scored

    6. f)  Fewest goals allowed

    7. g)  In the 5, 6 or 7 team divisions, first tie breaker will not include a) unless the 2 teams

      that are tied have played each other.

    8. h)  For Championship & Semi Final games in case of a tie, there will be a 4 on 4 3

      minute running time period. Last 30 seconds stop time. If still tied, a 3 on 3, 3 minute running time period, last 30 seconds stop time. If still tied, a 2 on 2, 3 minute running time period, last 30 seconds stop time. If still tied a 1 on 1, 3 minute running time period, last 30 seconds stop time will occur. If still tied the 1 on 1 format still applies until someone scores.

    9. i)  If penalties occur in overtime, a player on ice will have to leave ice & sit for 1 minute. Clock will stop after offending team touches puck & will restart after faceoff. Only exception is a 1 on 1 format. A player will be added to ice for 1 minute in this case.

    •   Game Forfeits will result in a 1-0 win.

    •   A major fighting or gross misconduct penalty will result in player suspension from

      tournament.

    •   Any team official (coach, trainer or manager) ejected from a game will also be

      suspended for the remainder of the tournament.

    •   Coaches are responsible for team conduct while their team is at the Arena.

    •   Any disputes will be settled by the Tournament Committee and all decisions will be final. Oct 7, 2014
