DRAGONS' BEST GAME YET

The DRAGONS played their fourth game of the season and it appears the team is on the rise. They are figuring each other out!

On a cold, wet and windy October day, the DRAGONS head to the Flight Exec Centre for a home game against the Belmont Rangers. The kids arrive one by one; each parent paying their dues at the gate in order to watch their young star on the ice! Although the kids have yet to win, the team is growing stronger and stronger; learning how each other plays and bonding.
As the parents take their seats in the nice warmth of the new pad, the kids hit he ice with determination. Coach Darla watches them through a succinct warm up; well executed and thorough. The buzzer sounds and the DRAGONS line up. The first period proves to be a tough one for the DRAGONS. With few chances on the Belmont net, the DRAGONS end the first period behind by 3-0.
The players all huddle around the bench as the coaches talk their talk; getting them pumped up with words of encouragement and strategy. The players line up and are ready for their some more hockey. The puck drops and Chase wins the face off. He heads into Belmont's zone with his wingers at his side. He lets loose but the shot is saved. The DRAGONS make some fantastic plays this period and have a may shots on net but the puck never makes it past the precious line. The DRAGONS hold off the Rangers and don't let them anywhere near our goalie. In the few times they were in our zone, they were either shut out by our defense or denied by our goalie Carter! No goals are scored this period and we move into the third.
It becomes evident this period that the DRAGONS are a team with more endurance and gusto. The second period started to show a slight divide but this period it is clear. As in the second, the chances on net this period were abundant. Despite all efforts, the were unable to blast the black disc in a fashion that lights up the red light. On an accidental bad shift change due to fatigue, Belmont is able to net one more but that ends it for them. The DRAGONS take 2 penalties this period but it odes not affect the score; we killed the penalties! In all honesty, the Rangers' goalie was good. Despite out attempts, he saved them all.
The DRAGONS are on the ice four times in four days and the next one is tomorrow at 2:30 against Mount Brydges in Dorchester.
GO DRAGONS!!!!!!
