Congratulations to our Atom LL2 team for taking home the
hardware this past weekend in the 6th Annual Jake Marczenko Memorial
Tournament in Dorchester.
The team went 2-1 in the round robin with convincing wins over Ilderton and Lincoln, the only blemish being a 3-2 heartbreaker against Beeton. The semi-final match pitted the Dragons against the New Hamburg Huskies which proved to be a tight match ending in a 3-2 win fueled by a third period goal with 3 minutes left.
The New Hamburg win propelled the Dragons to the finals where they would meet up once again with the Beeton Stingers. Strong play at both ends of the ice provided the remedy for the round robin loss and resulted in a 3-0 win for the gold medal. The team should feel very proud of themselves as they battled to come out victorious!
