PLAYOFF POSTGAME- GAME #3
Our hopes were high and the kids were pumped up for a big game. Unfortunately, HOPE is not a strategy and we took home our first loss of this series.
The game started on time after the warm up was finished. The first players lined up at centre and the puck dropped. Right off the hop, the Cougars were on us. We needed to light some fire under the DRAGONS but did not have much luck in the first period. In the first 9 minutes, the Cougars scored three goals..... but that would be the end of their goals for the rest of this game.
The DRAGONS did not get a lot of opportunities in any period but when they did, all but one goal was saved by their highly skilled goalie. It was exactly half way through the second period that #11, Ian McIntyre, makes a perfect pass to the blade of Jacob Delaney. Jacob weaves his way through various players and is able to net a high shot for our first goal of the game.
It's 3-1 for he Cougars and that is where it will stay until the final buzzer of the game. The series is three games old now and the Cougars are up in points by 4-2 in this series. Thursday is a big game for us; it could make or break the series!
