PLAYOFF POSTGAME #2 - TOMMY'S TENSION
The second game of the series was held in Mt. Brydges but you wouldn't have guessed that if you looked into the stands. The DRAGONS' fans showed up by the dozens; possibly a factor into the results of this game.

In the biggest and best comeback game of this 2014/2015 Novice Hockey season, the fans were treated to some unusual happenings. The result was a 5-5 tie, but how we got there is the exciting part.

The kids lined up and the puck dropped. The play, like the last game, was tight. Mt. Brydges scored near the end of the 1st with only 33 seconds left in this period. Other than that...... I got nothin'.

Furious and ready to even up the score, the DRAGONS took the puck off the drop and headed directly to the Cougars' net. In only an instant, we tied it up by an unassisted shot from Matthew M. We sit at 1-1 and we can feel the heat. In the next 5 1/2 minutes, the tables turn...... and I mean turn dramatically. The Cougars end up banging in 4 goals which leave us rattled..... but not defeated...... but it's 5-1!  With Coach Tom encouraging the kids to not "give up" and saying "there's lots of hockey left", they kept their heads up and proved Coach Tom right. At 1:13, the coaches son, Wild Wade, hears his Dad's advice and fakes out the goalie to make it now 5-2 for the Cougars. Still not discouraged, Brilliant Bryce makes a fiery pass of the puck out of our end and it's picked up by Crafty Calista. Calista receives the pass, looks up and sees Jacob on her wing. She makes the pass; in heads Jacob. Only seconds left in the second, Jumpin' Jacob heads left on the goalie and pulls a Savardian Spinorama to tighten the score to 5-3.

At this point the fans have begun to step it up a bit and see that we are not done yet. The cheers ramp up and the excitement continues. Everyone has a renewed spark in their eye.... including the bench staff; but the tension is still very high. The third is just as eventful as the second. First things first, the Cougars do not score this period! Yes, it's true. But the DRAGONS do!!!!!! At 7:20, Jacob makes a centre ice pass to Matthew M. who is able to pull his moves and blast a high shot past the goalie's right ear.  We are sitting at an intense score of 5-4 and there are almost 7 minutes left. In the next few minutes, both teams have lots of chances but no one is able to change the score. The play heads into our end and it's looking ominous. Matthew "The Wall" Lindsay chases a lone Cougar who is heading toward our goalie at a very high rate of speed. Matthew kicks it up a notch and successfully side swipes the puck from the Cougar. Matthew takes the puck around his own net and rockets himself and the puck into centre ice. He sees the open space and fires it into the Cougars' zone. The players from both teams are all over the puck but one victorious DRAGON takes the helm. The puck finds itself in front of the net and Alex "Dutsy" Dutton is there to follow up. Alex is on his backhand but that doesn't stop him. He makes the swipe and nets a top shelf goal to tie up the game. UNBELIEVEABLE!!!

A comeback from 5-1 for them to a 5-5 tie.... not even sure what to say about that!  Way to go DRAGONS! We couldn't have asked for more exciting hockey tonight!

GO DRAGONS !!!!!!!
