Message from DMHA President - Plea for help
Hello all,
Welcome to 2012 the year of the Dragon(again). I want to first congratulate all of our rep teams that did so well at all the different Silverstick tournaments. I know we have a number of teams going to represent us at International Silverstick, good luck to all of you, we are very proud of you.
Also I want to congratulate any and all of our teams that have gone into tournaments and did so amazing. As a small town we certainly can be very proud of our hockey program. Many centers around us are amazed that our teams do so well and can play the game we all love so well. I credit this to our dedication as parents and wanting our kids to do the best that they can. We have an amazing organization and my hope is that it continues to grow and do well. Our annual meeting will be held on May 16th this year and we will be discussing a lot of very important things this year. This is where you can get a sense of the direction that we are headed and voice any concerns you may have. This year we will be presenting a number of motions that will be voted on. If you want your say it is best to come to this meeting so that you can be heard. Our hope is to have a great representation at this meeting so we can move forward in the direction that our membership wants. With all that said what better way to improve our organization, than stepping forward and offering to help us with the many positions available.
Now that the festive holidays have passed and most of us are back in our regular routines. It is time for us as a membership to start thinking of new people to run our organization. As a member of the executive for a number of years now, I feel it best to allow new faces and ideas come in and continue to shape our organization. Our current executive will have a number of open positions that will need to be filled at our annual meeting in May. Also we will have a number of committee positions that will be vacated as well. If you are reading this and any questions come to mind please contact us, and we will be happy to answer for you. Each and every position requires a good attitude and a commitment to do the best you can do. The people that are vacating these positions will have no problem teaching you what they know and help get you started. I remember the first time I offered to help, scary to say the least. Truthfully as time went on I came to realize how many people it takes to run this organization and how many great people we have in this community. I urge you to consider stepping forward and taking on one of these challenging but very rewarding positions.
If any of you would like to discuss any of these opportunities please contact myself or anyone on the executive. I thank you for your time and consideration.
